As a result of this\, JPMorgan Chase is supporting “Show Me Your Walk HBCU Edition\,” a virtual commencement ceremony on May 16 that will celebrate the achievements of more than 27\,000 HBCU students from 78 schools. JPMorgan Chase is supporting this effort through its Advancing Black Pathways initiative\, which was created to help black communities close historical achievement gaps in three key areas: wealth creation\, educational outcomes and career success to complete their bachelor’s degree. During the event\, HBCUs will raise funds to support students because research shows they must often overcome significant socioeconomic challenges to complete bachelor’s degrees. “Show Me Your Walk HBCU Edition” was conceived by Dr. Michael Sorrell\, President of Paul Quinn College (PQC) and member of the ABP Advisory Council. Additional organizers for the event include Howard University\, The National Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education (NAFEO)\, Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF)\, United Negro College Fund (UNCF)\, and the NBA. \nLinks: \nMicrosite: https://hbcustudent.chase.com/ \nPress release: https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2020/04/28/2023585/0/en/National-HBCU-Commencement-Celebration-to-Take-Place-on-May-16-2020.html \nEssence Press Release: https://www.essence.com/news/national-virtual-hbcu-commencement-celebration-essence-may-16-2020/?fbclid=IwAR26lhQAcPhYFC1lxOo5B6AIIse2tj5rYLBi-Beco1-M4uuVJAx6JHQ5EJQ \n\nSaturday\, May 16\, 2020 \nEvent: #HBCUGradParty with DJ D-Nice\, Powered by MoetHennessyUSA \nTime: 9:00 pm EDT to 11:00 pm EDT \nHow to Join: Instagram Live (@dnice) \nConfirmed Featured Guests: Nas\, ASAP Ferg \n  \nEvent Description: To celebrate those that will miss the milestone of graduation this year\, Hennessy and the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) are proud to sponsor D-Nice’s official after-party for the National HBCU Commencement Celebration on May 16th. In addition to highlighting graduates and their institutions\, the #HBCUGradParty will raise funds for participating HBCUs and their students. \nLinks: \nMedia Release: https://allhiphop.com/news/nas-a-ap-ferg-to-take-part-in-d-nice-s-virtual-showmeyourwalk-hbcu-grad-party-mFOZoV18BEqXd-9MzQ-t7A \nMedia Mention: https://adage.com/article/digital/18-brands-getting-virtual-graduations-and-proms-slew-celebs/2255556 \n\nSunday\, May 17\, 2020 \nEvent: HBCU Cookout\, Powered by Facebook \nTime: 12:00 pm EDT \nHow to Join: Facebook.com/AllDefDigital \nEvent Description: The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF)\, Paul Quinn College\, and the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) will continue the celebration of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) with the “HBCU Cookout” hosted by All Def and Watch The Yard.
