The Tarboro Road Community Center is sporting a new public artwork, “Finding I AM,” a mural created by Saint Augustine’s University ( ̽ѡ) class of 2016 alumna Cianna Jackson with a BA in Visual Arts concentrating on Graphic Design. “I’m very grateful to the Visual Arts Program, Ms. Dallas, and Deborah for this opportunity,” says Cianna. “I’m thrilled I could use the experience I gained at ̽ѡ in my community and showcase my talents.”

What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity; And if you have come into contact with Shareese Williams, you have likely been left with a smile. Born in the heart of Harlem and educated in Raleigh NC, Ms. Williams is a 1998 First Generation graduate of Saint Augustine’s College, Majored in Broadcasting Communications. A four‐year member of the Lady falcon Basketball Team and a Contributing Editor in the college’s first video yearbook. Ms. Williams continued her educational studies at Pfeiffer University, where she obtained a master’s degree in Health Administration in 2005, while working at BCBSNC where she was employed for nearly a decade.

A familiar face to Falcons young and old, Ms. Williams has worked on promotions for Homecoming Reunion Events for over 15 years. Within the gates of 1315, Ms. Williams served as the Manager of the University Bookstore. As an alumnus she proudly assisted current and prospective students and Alumni with current, fashionable ways to display and express their Falcon Pride. Always willing to take on new adventures Ms. Williams is now employed as a Senior Admissions Recruiter for Saint Augustine’s University.

No stranger to service Shareese has been actively involved with various organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Raleigh Boys Club, The Lupus Foundation, and the Susan G. Komen Race for the cure. Ms. Williams is also a 2009 initiate of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated via Johnston County Alumnae Chapter. While an active member of the chapter, she chaired the annual Walking Out Against Family Violence 5K Walk for several years. The program raised thousands of dollars for Harbor of Johnston County. Ms. Williams is a member of the Saint Augustine’s University Raleigh/Wake Alumni Association and a Life Member of the Saint Augustine’s University National Alumni Association.

Ms. Williams has one son, Keion White, who is currently a graduate student at The Georgia Institute of Technology.

Cianna Jackson was born in Bermuda and immigrated to North Carolina and has been there since 2001. She attended Saint Augustine’s University where she obtained her Bachelors of Arts in Visual Arts with a concentration in Graphic Design in 2016. Shortly after her graduation, Cianna was employed by her alma mater as a Digital Design and Content Specialist, where she was tasked with redesigning and launching a new official university website. She is currently the webmaster for that website. While at Saint Augustine’s University, Cianna has had many opportunities to serve in various capacities. She has been in charge of university-wide communications, helped redesign and reinstate a university mascot, worked on the team that brought about the first ̽ѡ mobile application and is currently the administrator of said app.

Having a desire to contribute her talents outside of work, Cianna has assisted her church community, starting with St. Paul AME Church with choir participation and graphic design and then with Vision Church on the Communications Ministry and First Impressions Ministry prior to COVID.

Along with design, Cianna’s passions lie in the arts. In her personal time, she enjoys drawing and painting. She hopes to advance her skills to include animation in the near future.

Cianna is happily married to her husband, Zechariah Jackson, whom she met during her time at Saint Augustine’s University.
