
TEACHER RESIDENCY LICENSURE PROGRAM
Recommendation for licensure upon completion of NCDPI-required practitioner assessment and content examinations.
The Residency Licensure Program offers qualified applicants a carefully guided, mentored experience through rigorous coursework paired with their authentic workplace experiences enabling them to progress toward licensure. The ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ Educator Preparation Program is approved by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.

CURRICULUM
Duration: 12 to 18 Months
Total Credits/Learning Hours: 18 Credit hrs. 6 Core Courses
Session Dates:
Session I – Sept – Dec
Session II – Jan – Apr
Session III – May – Aug
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science
- Official Transcripts
- Minimum GPA – 2.75* 
- 24 hours of coursework in the content area or passage of the North Carolina State Board of Education exam in the content area.
- Currently teaching at NC public school
*May be conditionally admitted based on demonstrated proficiency or recommendations if above 2.5. Must take 2 – 3 approved courses external to the Residency Licensure courses to achieve the minimum 2.75 GPA for full admission to the program.
