The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation鈥檚 (NCSBI) Cold Case Investigative Unit has established a partnership with the Department of Criminal Justice at Saint Augustine鈥檚 University. In a highly selective interview process, four criminal justice students were chosen to conduct a systematic review of a NCSBI鈥檚 cold case. Additionally, students will learn about cold case investigative techniques and the development and use of technology in cold case investigations. The program will be executed through the Department of Criminal Justice鈥檚 Honors Seminar course. At the end of the course, students will prepare reports to assist the NCSBI鈥檚 Cold Case Investigative Unit in their investigation.

The Department of Criminal Justice at Saint Augustine鈥檚 University is the only HBCU undergraduate program in the state to be afforded the opportunity to participate in the NCSBI鈥檚 Cold Case Program, and only one of two undergraduate programs in the state that have been asked to participate. Retired NCSBI Assistant Director and Department of Criminal Justice faculty member Mrs. B. Renee Robinson will serve as the instructor in the course.
