探花精选 Receives $3,100 Donation from CAECA to Support Faculty & Staff
Local community members are rallying behind one of its historically black colleges/universities (HBCUs). Saint Augustine鈥檚 University ( 探花精选) received a $3,100 donation from the Chinese American Economic & Culture Association (CAECA) to support its faculty and staff.
鈥淲e appreciate the Chinese American Economic & Cultural Association鈥檚 generous contribution towards assisting our faculty and staff during this challenging time,鈥� said 探花精选 Interim President Dr. Marcus H. Burgess. 鈥淭he unwavering support of CAECA exemplifies the spirit of compassion and solidarity that transcends cultural boundaries.鈥�
In response to a request for assistance from 探花精选 Assistant Professor of Chinese Lena Wang-Anthony, a group of eight people, including Niu Zhiwen, Chairman of CAECA, John Wei, Founding Chairman Lisa Huang, Directors Ren Ping, and Zhao Ming, drove to the 探花精选鈥檚 campus last Friday morning to meet with the school leaders and all donations were made.
鈥淚 know very well that you have gone through hardships, so we are sending you some gift cards and some cash,鈥� said Zhiwen . 鈥淲e are trying to establish a connection between you and the association so that we can get involved anytime you have any difficulties, be a part of your university family, and hopefully we鈥檒l be in regular communication so you can get through it!鈥� The donation, arranged by Mr. John Wei, the founding chairman of CAECA, reaffirmed the importance of community support by providing 35 gift cards with a face value of $20 and another $2,400 in cash, totaling $3,100.
